About Pack 360
Pack 360 is a thriving Cub Scout Pack in La Crescenta, CA. We are a part of the Verdugo Hills Council - Foothill District, sponsored by American Legion Post 288, and hosted by Mountain Avenue Elementary School. We are home to more than 70 Scouting families from the 1st through 5th grades.
We believe that Cub Scouting is about doing, learning, making friends, and enjoying activities as a family and a unit. Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the scouts doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack.
We love to camp and take advantage of our Southern California weather. We love and respect the environment, and share a passion for its beauty and conservation. We embrace the diversity of our community. Most importantly, we love to do things together, make new friends, and have a great time together in a safe, positive, and caring peer environment. In addition to these, within Pack 360, we also emphasize leadership skills, self-confidence, and respect for others.
MISSION STATEMENT
We are committed to Scouting and believe that Scouting is a valuable program for youth, with admirable benefits for the scout, their family, their local community, our nation and the world. We believe the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are excellent guiding principles for everyone. More importantly, we believe that the Scout Oath and the Scout Law are entirely incompatible with the practice of excluding any individual based solely upon innate personal characteristics, and that to do so violates the fundamental spirit and principles expressed or implied in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
We believe that Scout leaders have a solemn responsibility to help youth develop clear ethical values and to live those values in order to be an example of friendliness, tolerance, inclusiveness and respect for diversity. Conversely, we strongly believe that modeling discrimination against others on the basis of their personal characteristics is fundamentally incompatible with the basic and traditional values and principles of Scouting, and poisonous to all involved in scouts.
We believe strongly in the Scout oath and the Scout law and we will do our best to instill and uphold it!
Basic Pack Information
Scouts will meet with their den (single-age group) 1-2x per month and the pack (multi-age group) meets once a month. Occasionally scouts have the opportunity to do things with the Council (the main group in charge of all packs in our area) like summer camp or family camps.
Whole-pack meetings are on the third Friday of the month at Mountain Avenue Elementary School.
