Summer Fun

Summer Family Camp
Arrival Date: Fri Jun 9, 2017
Departure Date: Sun Jun 11,  2017
TREK Leader: Natalie Ouwersloot

GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude):

From the Los Angeles basin side of the San Gabriel Mountains: drive to La Canada via the I-210 (Foothill Freeway) to the State Highway 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) exit. Turn north towards the mountains. Stay on State Highway 2 for 25.6 miles to the lower Chilao Road (Forest Service Road 3N21); turn left onto lower Chilao Road. Proceed west 1.2 miles to the entrance gate on your left. Use the combination you obtained when confirming your reservation to open the gate.

This is the perfect place to try camping as it is only about a 45 minute drive. There is a nature center that we will venture to, many small roads for everyone to practice their bike riding skills, and hiking paths to explore.  This campsite is slowly growing back after the Station Fire so there are some areas off limits.  There are flush toilets but no sinks for washing dishes.  Families are responsible for bringing their own food, tent supplies, and gear.  If you are in need of any gear, reach out to your den leader and we’ll try to accommodate.  We will have a Saturday night potluck and Scout show with skits, songs, and fun!  Cost is $10 per person to cover supplies and camp reservation costs.

Camp Cherry Valley -- SOLD OUT
Catalina Island
August 10 - 13, 2017
TREK Leader: Leslie Dickson

This resident camp is available to Bears and Webelos (3rd to 5th graders). Sign ups are done as a pack.  Money is due April 15th.  Older scouts can attend without their parent, but special arrangements must be made with the Trek Leader.  Yes, the kids will miss 2 days of school.  But the experience and memories will far make up for that.
